Company Overview

Aeon Industrial develops tactical missile systems faster and more affordably than the traditional defense industrial base. We build advanced weapon systems at scale for the warfighter, combining warfighter experience with world-class engineering in a high-performance environment where precision, accountability, and execution are paramount. Our work directly supports mission-critical capabilities, and we maintain the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Technician to join our engineering and production team. This hands-on role focuses on the assembly, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electromechanical systems, subassemblies, wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and electronic/PCB modules in both lab prototyping and production environments. The ideal candidate has strong experience in electromechanical assembly to IPC standards, harness building, system integration, mechanical tooling, and electrical troubleshooting—along with the ability to support test automation using Python in our fast-paced defense manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities and qualifications

• Electromechanical Assembly and System Integration

Perform detailed electromechanical assembly of complex systems, subassemblies, enclosures, panels, and missile/weapon components.

Build, route, terminate, and integrate wiring harnesses, cable assemblies, and interconnects using crimping, soldering, connector installation, strain relief, and proper bundling techniques.

Conduct panel wiring, mechanical fastening, and system-level integration while interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and assembly instructions.

Use precision hand tools, torque drivers/wrenches, crimping tools, wire strippers, and specialized assembly fixtures to ensure structural and electrical integrity.

• SMT PCB Assembly, Rework, and Support

Perform fine-pitch SMT soldering, desoldering, and rework under a microscope, adhering to IPC-A-610 standards.

Assemble and rework SMT components/modules, reading Bills of Materials (BOMs) and collaborating with engineering to integrate PCBs into electromechanical systems.

• Testing, Validation, and Troubleshooting

Set up and operate test/measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, etc.) to conduct functional, continuity, and diagnostic testing of AC/DC systems, harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.

Execute test procedures, analyze data, identify faults down to component level, and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical issues in circuits, harnesses, and integrated systems.

Support system validation, quality inspections, and environmental/functional testing of prototypes and production units.

• Repair, Modification, and Documentation

Diagnose/repair issues in electromechanical assemblies, harnesses, and electronics using schematics, test data, and rework techniques.

Perform modifications, reworks, and upgrades while maintaining traceability.

Thoroughly document assembly steps, test results, repairs, torque values, and compliance in accordance with quality and defense standards.

• Production and Lab Support

Maintain clean, organized, ESD-safe, and safe work areas; handle/dispose of materials per safety guidelines.

Manage inventory of components, tools, harness materials, and supplies; communicate needs to purchasing.

Collaborate with engineers and team members on prototyping, first-article builds, production scaling, and continuous improvement of assembly processes.

Required Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.

• Minimum 4 years of experience in electromechanical assembly, wiring harness/cable fabrication, system integration, and/or electrical-mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing, defense, aerospace, or high-reliability environment.

• Demonstrated proficiency with IPC standards (IPC-A-610 for electronics, IPC/WHMA-A-620 for cable/wire harness assemblies, J-STD-001 for soldering).

• Strong experience reading/interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, BOMs, and technical instructions.

• Hands-on skills with assembly tools (crimpers, torque tools, soldering irons, wire processing equipment, multimeters, etc.).

• Experience with Python scripting for test automation, data handling, or process support.

• Excellent attention to detail, manual dexterity, problem-solving, and commitment to quality in high-stakes defense work.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Active IPC certifications (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001).

• Experience in defense/aerospace manufacturing, including high-reliability harness assembly or missile/electronic system integration.

• Familiarity with Altium Designer, solidworks, E-Drawings, NX or similar tools for PCB and/or assembly review.

• Knowledge of RF/analog systems, modulation formats, or automated testing in complex weapon platforms.

Aeon Industrial is an equal opportunity employer committed to building a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in defense manufacturing. Qualified candidates are encouraged to submit their resume for consideration.
