Company Description
At Aeon, we design, build, and fly low-cost, modular, weapon systems for ground and air platforms. We take pride in our dynamic and small team that allows us to iterate, build and test quickly. If you are looking to solve hard technical problems with a team of passionate engineers in a hands-on, fast-paced environment, Aeon is the place for you.
We are looking to add a Senior RF Engineer to our team. As an RF Engineer at Aeon, you will work on some of the most technically challenging and impactful parts of our product. You will design, build, and test high-performance active radar systems. Your contributions will directly affect our products, their use case and our customers. You’ll also help shape our technical roadmap for RF products.
This is a highly collaborative role: you’ll partner closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure what you are building fits the larger system. Whether you’re optimizing our antenna designs, building new transmitter architectures, or solving hard signal processing problems, your work will be key to Aeon’s success.
This is a full-time, in-person role located in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.
What you’ll do at Aeon:
- Be responsible for RF hardware designs from initial concept through requirements definition, part selection, detailed design, analysis, schematic capture & PCB layout, manufacturing, testing, and fielding of Aeon’s RF products.
- Be heavily involved in the RF technical roadmap.
- Assist with development of signal processing pipelines to process and act on radar data.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 7+ years of industry experience in design, analysis, test and troubleshooting of RF electronics.
- Experience with RF simulation tools such as Microwave Office and Ansys AEDT/HFSS
- Experience designing PCB assemblies with Altium Designer
- Hands-on experience with lab instruments such as VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers, signal generators and oscillators.
- A proven track record of successfully fielding RF products to actual customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
While it’s not required, it would be an added plus if you have:
- 10+ years industry experience in design, analysis, test and troubleshooting of RF electronics.
- Knowledge of radar signal processing techniques such as monopulse angle estimation or range-walk corrections
- Experience implementing signal processing algorithms in C/C++
- Experience implementing signal processing algorithms HDL (Verilog)
- Experience with antenna design & simulation
- EMI/EMC design and mitigation techniques
