As a Senior Mechatronics Engineer, you'll own electromechanical subsystems on our tactical missile platform. The near-term work is maturing an existing design: carrying it through qualification, finalizing it for the production environment, and closing out the problems that only surface once you're building at rate. Once that design is locked, you'll lead clean sheet actuation and motion control work on future programs.

This is a small team, so the scope is wide. You'll size the hardware, build the test stands, run the tests, write the reports, and then advocate for the design changes you think it needs.

Full-time, in-person role in Austin, TX with plans to move to Cedar Park, TX early 2027.

What you'll do

  • Mature existing control actuation hardware from working prototype to qualified, producible design, including tolerance stackups, freeplay and precision budgets, and margin against launch and flight environments
  • Own the mechanical to electrical interface: packaging, connectors, harnessing, and sensor integration in a volume-constrained airframe under high-g launch loads
  • Design and build test infrastructure, then use the telemetry to characterize precision, bandwidth, stiffness, and thermal margin, and to chase down behavior that doesn't match the model
  • Run qualification: vibration, shock, thermal, and life testing, with the test plans and reports that go with them
  • Drive design for manufacturability with our machine shop and supply chain so parts scale past prototype volumes at cost targets that hold up in mass production
  • Lead clean sheet electromechanical design on new programs as they spin up

What we're looking for

  • 7+ years designing electromechanical actuation hardware that shipped
  • Strong grounding in servo and motion control fundamentals, including the ability to size a motor and drivetrain and defend the numbers
  • Experience carrying a design through qualification and into production, not just through first article
  • Hands-on test experience: instrumentation, DAQ, and debugging hardware that misbehaves
  • Comfort working from incomplete requirements and setting your own priorities
  • CAD and PLM fluency (NX and Teamcenter preferred)
  • Missile, munitions, UAS, robotics, or automotive actuation background
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR

Compensation

$150,000 – $195,000 base, plus equity. Range reflects experience level.
