Rate of Pay: $131,840.28 per year
Duties: Design, develop, and maintain software applications following established best practices. Contribute to existing codebase while demonstrating good separation of concerns. Collaborate on project planning and implementation with senior engineers. Understand and adapt to existing system designs and technology choices. Assist in developing solutions for small to medium-sized projects. Implement automated tests and contribute to testing improvements. Follow established coding standards and participate in code reviews. Communicate effectively within the engineering team. Participate actively in team discussions and planning sessions. Maintain awareness of ongoing team projects and initiatives.
Position reports to Paylocity headquarters in Schaumburg, Illinois. Applicants may work from a home office anywhere in the United States.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign educational equivalent) and 24 months of experience as a Software Engineer, or closely related occupation in professional software engineering.

- Demonstrated expertise (DE) in .NET frameworks and object-oriented programming languages C#s and ASP.NET Core.
- DE in Scrum, Kanban, and Test-Driven Development (TDD) agile development methodologies, and Web Sockets and RESTful APIs protocols.
- DE with software architecture concepts: Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture (EDA), Serverless Architecture (AWS Lambda), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- DE with version control systems (GitHub or GitLab), and JIRA and Confluence for project and documentation management.
- DE with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions.
- DE with Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and End-to-End (E2E) Testing, using Selenium or Cypress.
- DE with Relational Databases (SQL Server or PostgreSQL); NoSQL Databases (MongoDB); AWS Cloud-Based Architecture; Containerization (Docker or Kubernetes); Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (Terraform or Helm); and SOLID Principles for writing maintainable code.
