What You´ll Do
- Product strategy & roadmap – maintain a 3‑year roadmap, feature set, cost targets and competitive positioning; update quarterly with market intelligence.
- Business & P&L – build and manage product business cases, pricing models and gross‑margin commitments; track unit economics throughout the lifecycle.
- Voice of Customer – gather requirements via Commercial team, demos and fleet feedback; translate into clear PRDs and prioritised backlogs.
- Cross‑functional leadership – coordinate with Engineering (trade studies, architecture, certification), Manufacturing (capacity, cost‑out, quality), Commercial (launch packs, bids, exhibitions) and Field Ops (service data for next releases).
- Launch & lifecycle management – gate readiness (TRL, cost, supply chain), drive trials, and approve sustainment plans.
- Governance & reporting – present monthly KPI deck to CPO Maritime & Ground; escalate risks, propose recovery plans, and secure CAPEX/OPEX for roadmap items.
What You´ll Need
- Master’s in Naval Architecture, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or similar. MBA or Defence College certificate is a plus.
- 8+ years in naval weapons, autonomous maritime systems or underwater robotics, including ≥3 years with full P&L or product‑management accountability.
- Demonstrated success building business cases ≥€20 M, managing pricing, and delivering margin goals in defence or high‑tech environments.
- Familiar with hydrodynamics, propulsion, C4ISR integration, military standards (STANAG, MIL‑STD‑810) and certification pathways.
- Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
- Customer orientation - Comfortable briefing naval procurement officers, prime contractors and internal C‑suite;
- Strong written & spoken English. Extra NATO language is a bonus.
