We are searching for an intern to develop a mixed signal RF device to improve the performance of our RADAR system. They will be assisted by an experienced engineering team. The successful applicant will improve their skills in mixed signal PCB design, FPGA development and RF circuit design while making a real contribution to the team. They will take a project from the specification stage through to testing and validation.
This internship offers hands-on experience in a multidisciplinary radar team whose backgrounds span industry, academia, and research institutes. The team’s expertise in both hardware and software will support the intern in gaining the knowledge necessary to make their project successful.
What You’ll Do
✔ Develop a mixed signal RF device to improve radar system performance.
✔ Work under the guidance of an experienced engineering team.
✔ Take a project from specification through to testing and validation.
✔ Improve skills in mixed signal PCB design, FPGA development, and RF circuit design.
✔ Gain exposure to a multidisciplinary team with expertise in hardware and software radar systems.
✔ Make a real contribution to a high-impact engineering project.
Must-Have
✔ Studying Electronic, Electrical Engineering or a related field at bachelor’s/master's degree level (or completed degree).
✔ Knowledge of RF circuit theory (S-parameters, transmission line theory, RF amplifier characteristics etc.).
✔ Experience writing a hardware description language (VHDL, Verilog, SystemVerilog etc.).
✔ Basic PCB layout experience.
✔ Familiarity with laboratory test equipment such as oscilloscopes and bench power supplies.
Nice-to-Have
➕ Knowledge of more specialist equipment such as VNAs (Vector Network Analyzers) and spectrum analyzers.
➕ Interest in developing a broad skillset that spans domains driven by fundamental understanding.
