Your mission is clear – build and lead our presence in Brussels to enhance visibility, access, and influence within EU and NATO decision-making. You’ll open doors, forge relationships, and position Destinus to actively shape the agenda alongside ministers, agencies, and industry stakeholders.

What you´ll do

Government & Institutional Relations

· Map, open, and maintain senior relationships across: European Commission (incl. DG DEFIS), European Defence Agency (EDA), European Parliament (key committees), EU Council/PermReps, NATO HQ (incl. DIANA/NSPA touchpoints), and national MoDs.

· Orchestrate high-level meetings, site visits, and briefings for principals; prepare compelling briefing books and follow-ups.

· Track programmes and timelines (e.g., EDF and related EU defence instruments, NATO initiatives, OCCAR/NSPA frameworks) and position us early.

Advocacy & Policy Shaping

· Develop talking points on UAS/drone, counter-UAS, and wider defence-industrial topics; submit responses to consultations.

· Build coalitions with primes, SMEs, and associations to advance pragmatic, pro-innovation policies and procurement pathways.

· Ensure full compliance with the EU Transparency Register & lobbying codes of conduct.

Think Tanks, Research & Media Visibility

· Cultivate relationships with Brussels and European think tanks; seed joint research, roundtables, and op-eds that move the debate.

· Partner with Comms on narrative placement, media briefings, and third-party validation.

Events & “Seat at the Table”

· Secure invitations and speaking roles at top-tier defence forums, Parliamentary hearings/roundtables, NATO/EU industry days, and specialist UAV-related events.

· Own the Brussels calendar: curating, prioritising, and turning appearances into pipeline, partnerships, and policy impact.

Commercial Intelligence & Enablement

· Feed early intel on tenders, calls, and pilot programmes to Sales and BD; help shape consortia and teaming agreements.

· Maintain a live stakeholder map and influence plan with clear objectives, owners, and next steps.

Internal Leadership & Governance

· Stand up a small Brussels hub; create weekly cadence notes and quarterly influence reports for leadership.

· Embed ethical lobbying, gifts/hospitality, and GDPR best practices.

What you´ll need

· 8 to 15 years in EU government relations within defence or dual-use sectors, or senior experience inside EU institutions, NATO, a national MoD, or a leading think tank.

· Established network across EDA, DG DEFIS, NATO HQ, key European Parliament committees, PermReps, and national defence ministries.

· Fluent English and French; other EU languages are a plus.

· Exceptional writing skills for briefings and principal preparation.

· Strong understanding of EU and NATO procurement pathways, EDF-style instruments, and the UAV/defence regulatory landscape (including EASA touchpoints for UAS).

· Comfortable engaging at ministerial and director-general level; discreet, ethical, and highly organised.

· Security clearance or the ability to obtain it preferred.

· Ability to travel across EU capitals and NATO venues.
