About the role

Imagine stepping into a role where your work keeps advanced systems alive, reliable, and ready for action. YYour core responsibilities will cover computer infrastructure management and keeping our systems running smoothly, writing and reviewing technical documentation, and remotely controlling and automating lab equipment. A significant part of the role will also involve streamlining our deployment architecture: ensuring all components are operational, preparing system images, and validating them on dedicated test machines. You will also work with real data from field radar deployments, contributing to data annotation and gradually stepping into small machine learning tasks as your expertise grows. As you demonstrate impact, you will take on more substantial development work, primarily in Python and later in C++, expanding your technical footprint across the system.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You´ll Do

  • Support data annotation efforts using real recordings from field radar deployments, ensuring labels are accurate and aligned with internal guidelines.
  • Review and validate annotated datasets to maintain quality and consistency, flagging anomalies or unclear cases to senior engineers.
  • Assist in cleaning, organizing, and preparing datasets for machine learning experiments and internal testing.
  • Help document data workflows, annotation processes, and technical findings to improve team knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to small scripting tasks in Python to automate repetitive processes related to data handling and validation.
  • Collaborate with engineers to better understand radar systems and how annotated data impacts overall system performance.
  • Gradually support small scale ML related tasks as your familiarity with the system and tools grows.
  • Learn and contribute to development tasks under mentorship, building foundations in Python and later gaining exposure to C++ as you progress.

What You’ll Need

  • Currently studying a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in a related area and are able to do internships with us.
  • Confidence working independently and taking real ownership of your tasks, knowing when to move forward autonomously and when to ask for input.
  • Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain what you are doing, what you plan to do next, and where you might be blocked.
  • A direct and honest approach to collaboration, speaking up when something seems incorrect, inefficient, or technically unfeasible .
  • Working knowledge of Linux or Unix systems, including comfort navigating the command line and understanding basic system operations.
  • Understanding of fundamental networking concepts such as IP addressing, ports, and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Ability to write scripts in Python or Bash to automate repetitive tasks and improve workflows.
  • Familiarity with system imaging, deployment pipelines, or virtualization technologies as a strong plus.
  • Basic knowledge of C++ as a welcome bonus, especially if you are interested in growing into deeper development responsibilities.

Who You Are

You are curious, hands on, and not afraid to take ownership. You work independently, communicate clearly, and speak up when something does not make sense. You are comfortable in Linux environments, enjoy automating things with Python or Bash, and are eager to grow into deeper development challenges over time.
