About the role

Imagine leading the insurance strategy behind one of the fastest-growing aerospace and defense companies in Europe. As Senior Insurance Manager, you lead the Group Insurance framework end-to-end strategy, governance, renewals, claims, broker management and risk-aligned program design. You ensure full compliance, operational excellence and resilient protection across the Group and act as the central insurance authority, steering internal and external stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across systems, processes and standards. You have a strong background in managing global insurance programmes in a multinational defense and manufacturing environment, including policy negotiations, claims handling, and insurance cost allocation. Knowledge of Dutch insurance regulations and a broad understanding of global insurance solutions, including captives and alternative risk transfer, are essential for this role.

What You´ll Do

Group Insurance Strategy & Program Ownership

  • Manage the Group’s insurance programmes (liability, property & business interruption, cyber, D&O, transport) including the captive with insurers, Group companies and brokers
  • Ensure all coverages align with the defined risk appetite.
  • Lead M&A insurance due diligence and onboard acquisitions and new assets into Group programs.
  • Provide insurance and risk management advice, guidance and support to Group companies
  • Update internal policies regularly and maintain strong governance frameworks.
  • Review and negotiate insurance policies to align with organisational needs, manage the insurance renewal process
  • Optimize insurance management processes, including value collection, claims handling, insurance cost allocation
  • Ensure accurate administrative execution and reporting across all systems.
  • Work with various stakeholders globally: Group Risk Management Team (Enterprise Risk Management, Internal Controls, Sustainability Risk Management), Risk Engineering Team, Local insurance responsibles, local Finance Managers and Corporate Finance colleagues as well as external Insurance companies and insurance brokers (to ensure optimum coverage)

What You’ll Need

  • University degree in finance, business, economics or risk management
  • Certifications such as CPCU (Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter) or ARM (Associate in Risk Management) are a plus.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of proven insurance management experience, including managing Group’s insurance programmes across all lines of business, negotiating insurance policies, claims handling, insurance cost allocation etc.
  • Proven experience in multinational manufacturing environment, defence experience is an advantage.
  • Broad understanding of insurance (incl. captives, alternative risk transfer)
  • Knowledge of Dutch insurance regulations
  • Business fluent in English and Dutch (spoken and written), other languages an asset
  • Ability to work independently
  • Solid user knowledge of Microsoft applications
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to risk management and insurance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex data and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with various stakeholders at all levels.
