About the role

Imagine shaping the future of radar technology by developing next generation digital radar systems built for high performance environments where every gram, watt, and millisecond matters. As a Radar System Engineer, you will work at the intersection of system architecture, advanced electronics, and mission-critical aerospace applications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to transform complex requirements into cutting-edge radar solutions. You will play a key role in defining system requirements, driving technical trade-offs, and selecting the right components to achieve demanding SWaP-C targets. This is a role for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical challenges, balancing performance with real-world constraints, and pushing advanced sensing systems to the next level.

At Destinus, we are revolutionizing the defense industry with cutting-edge Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Our innovative technologies are designed to meet the unique demands of modern defense operations, delivering unparalleled speed, precision, and cost effectiveness. Destinus partners with government agencies and defense organizations worldwide to provide advanced solutions for mission-critical operations, enabling a new era of efficiency and technological superiority. Join us in shaping the future of defense with groundbreaking aerospace innovations.

What You´ll Do

  • Behavioral modelling of bistatic radar systems
  • System level simulation to predict system performance based on key metrics (e.g. SNR, resolution parameters)
  • Validation of the system model against measurements
  • RX and TX architecture
  • Writing requirements and specifications
  • Lead system level studies across domains: HW, SW, signal processing, mechanical
  • Collaborate with RF design, digital design, SW engineering and signal processing as well as mechanical engineering

What You’ll Need

  • Deep understanding of TX and RX architectures and their building blocks: amplifiers, mixers, filters, clock circuits and PLLs, A/D and D/A converters
  • Behavioral models of RF and analog building blocks preferably in Python
  • Waveform design and digital communication principles
  • Good understanding of radar signal processing
  • Experience with bistatic radar is a plus
  • Knowledge of FPGA devices is a plus

Who You Are

You are a problem-solver who enjoys tackling complex technical challenges and turning requirements into high-performance radar solutions. You work well in multidisciplinary teams, communicate clearly, and stay focused when balancing performance, integration, and demanding SWaP-C constraints. Curious, hands-on, and driven by innovation, you are motivated by building technology that pushes the limits of advanced sensing systems.
