Last Energy seeks a Lead Process Engineer with an interest in advanced power plant technology to work on the design of our power plant system.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead process engineer responsible for developing P&ID's, equipment specifications, heat and mass balances, associated process calculations, mechanical layouts, vendor coordination, and hazardous operability reports
- Troubleshoot and complete root cause failure analysis on assigned projects
- Responsible for maintenance and development of calculation tools and some other document templates
- Coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team for the development of conceptual design and estimates
- Understand the project delivery process and help define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals, safety and reliability, and improvement efforts
Qualifications
- 10-15 years of experience as a mechanical or process engineer
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is strongly preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to convey information to both project team members and clients
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing start-up environment
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
Preferred Experience
- Experience as a lead process engineer and project engineer coordinating multiple disciplines in the execution of large industrial capital projects
- Experience working on studies, estimates, and detailed design of power plants in an EPC role including proficiency with use and creation of P&IDs
- Experience with boilers, steam turbines, boiler feedwater treatment, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, fans, tanks, compressed air systems, pipes, valves and other balance of plant equipment associated with power generation
