Last Energy (LE) seeks a Finance Analyst to evaluate financial data and provide insights to inform business decisions. This role will work closely with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely reporting, forecasting, and budgeting. This position will also provide support for strategic planning initiatives and assist with ad-hoc projects as needed across development, licensing and our target market subsidiaries. We seek early career professionals looking to tackle hard problems with comfortability navigating ambiguity and a desire to work hard towards our mission to decarbonizing industries through baseload carbon free power.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop, update and maintain three statement financial models to support the capital raising and corporate budgeting processes
  • Conduct analysis on electricity and heat markets and provide insight into pricing strategies for PPAs
  • Develop financial models to evaluate project developments of Last Energy's PWR-20 and prepare presentations to communicate the analysis
  • Support analysis and reporting of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in special projects, including preparation of investor/3rd party presentations and performance of ad-hoc financial analysis for various stakeholders
  • Assisting with analysis of M&A targets across the value chain and internationally
  • Conduct analysis in support of special projects with regards to development, licensing and fundraising

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or another quantitative field
  • 0-1+ years of experience in financial analysis, investment banking, private equity or similar role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other data analysis tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience in the energy industry preferred, but not required
