Role Summary:
We’re looking for a Product Designer - an early career role for people who are motivated, detail-oriented, and excited about learning design by doing.
You’ll work on products used daily by teachers and students, collaborating with experienced designers, product managers, and engineers. This role is less about having all the answers and more about being curious, thoughtful, and committed to craft.
This role is a great fit if:
● You care deeply about the act of creation - making, refining, and polishing.
● You’re detail oriented and take pride in clean, intentional work.
● You’re curious, humble, and excited to learn from others.
● You can explain your design decisions clearly, even when things are still messy or in progress.
● You have 1+ years of experience in design (product, visual, interaction, motion, game, or related fields) - or any other equivalent hands-on work.

What you’ll do

  • Design thoughtful, usable, and delightful experiences across student and teacher products.
  • Work on a wide range of problems - games, gauges, charts, animated characters, or instructional flows.
  • Translate real classroom needs to product requirements to rough ideas into wireframes, visual designs, and prototypes.
  • Obsess over details - spacing, motion, copy, states, and interactions because small things matter.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to bring designs to life.
  • Learn to use data, teacher feedback, and classroom context to improve your designs.
  • Participate in critiques, reviews, and design discussions, growing through feedback and mentorship

Design skills we care about

  • You don’t need to be great at everything yet but you should be strong in some of the below and eager to grow in others
  • Visual design basics (layout, typography, color, hierarchy)
  • Interaction thinking (flows, states, edge cases)
  • Systems thinking (components, patterns, consistency)
  • Curiosity about motion, animation, or play
  • Basic prototyping skills (Figma or similar tools)
Working at Wayground
We're a small, passionate, tech-first team solving big challenges in education. We move fast, build with data, and obsess over creating delightful experiences for our global community of educators and learners.
The pandemic has changed work in many ways, especially by enabling remote work. Many companies have chosen to be remote first. At Wayground, we work best in the office brainstorming using whiteboards, having conversations over coffee/walks, or overhearing a hallway conversation. Learning happens through osmosis. We understand that driving/ubering takes work in Bangalore. We’ll take care of the commute for you.
Beyond taking care of commute, we will cover health care benefits for you, your family, and your parents. We invest in our employee’s health and wellness. Through books and courses, we invest in their learning and development. Oh, and finally, we have healthy lunches, dinners, and a stocked pantry to snack on all day.
Wayground is an equal opportunity employer and we believe diversity is key to our success.
