What You’ll Do

As a Director, Analytics Engineering at Spotter, you will lead efforts to deliver cutting-edge analytics engineering solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will play a key role in shaping the analytics engineering strategy, and driving innovation to ensure the organization maintains a competitive edge. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide technical guidance and mentorship across the team, and establish best practices for Analytics Engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with data engineers to ensure smooth, efficient, resilient, and agile knowledge delivery pipelines.
  • Interface with other business units to understand analytical needs and deliver datasets/tools in response.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, increasing scalability, security, extensibility, efficiency, and alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate closely with data scientists, business analysts, and senior stakeholders to define analytics requirements and deliver innovative technical solutions that drive business outcomes.
  • Collect, organize, structure and profile data to build Analytics Ready Datasets for discovery of meaningful insights.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce methodologies for rigorous data quality checks and validation processes to ensure reliability, accuracy, and trustworthiness of data assets.
  • Collaborate efforts to identify and resolve data-related challenges and inconsistencies in partnership with data engineering and analytics teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to analytics engineers, fostering growth, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing across the team.
  • Develop and manage sophisticated dashboards, reports, and self-service reporting tools using TIBCO Spotfire, Power BI, and other advanced visualization platforms to surface important data and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Work with massive amounts of digital data (Web, App, API) and sophisticated tools in an industry leading Big Data environment.
  • Quickly learn technical topics and communicate limitations when encountered.
  • Navigate ambiguous situations with momentum necessary to overcome uncertainty.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Analytics, Applied Math, Statistics, or Business Analytics; advanced degrees are highly preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a related field.
  • Expertise in designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines and advanced ETL processes, with proficiency in relevant tools and technologies including Python, SQL, DBT, and at least one popular data warehousing platform (e.g. Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, Snowflake, etc)
  • Strong technical background in data instrumentation, data QA, and maintaining data accuracy across complex environments.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing automated reporting solutions and visualization tools, leveraging platforms such as TIBCO Spotfire and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate ambiguity and provide strategic direction for analytics initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with experience guiding team members to success.

Note: Due to the proliferation of similarly capable business products today, skills in equivalent products are acceptable

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles that will be performed in Culver City. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is: $160K-$180K salary per year. The range listed is just one component of Spotter’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include an annual discretionary bonus and equity.
